The Wind did Knock

It was a simple Tuesday filled with waking and playing with a few gum drops in between. As Marble filled her mouth with her fifth orange one, she heard a tap at the door. Never was she allowed to answer it, so she ignored it. Again, the gentle tap was made. Her curiosity could wait no longer so she let it open the door. No one ever said it couldn't, so she let it. Slowly it turned the handle then quickly, and a bit rudely, the wind rushed in. It swirled and twirled around her whispering something she didn't understand. She kindly asked it to leave for strangers were not allowed inside. It politely ignored her and whirled and hurled its way through her house. Its cold bit Marble, then Phillip and lastly it made its way to wherever her mother was.

With a stern command her mother asked, "Marble did you open the door and let the cold air in?"

"No mother," she replied,"My curiosity opened the door and the wind came in without asking.

"Well then you and your curiosity need to get it out of here and close the door."

Marble, being a smart girl, knew that her curiosity could not beat the wind, this would take tenacity. Marble knew she had some of that too.
