Marble caught the sadness. She didn't go to bed with it nor wake up with it. It snuck up on her when she wasn't looking (sometime after brushing her teeth or while drinking bad milk with her morning vitamin). Once it got its clutches around her softer parts, the sadness wouldn't let go. It stayed with her through breakfast, into lunch and well into the afternoon. She was about to give up and let it have all of her, when Phillip stepped in. He refused to see his dear friend suffer any longer. He had the perfect remedy. A smile and a whisper of "I love you".
